"Killing Is Not the Way Forward" : Amit Shah Promises Rehabilitation to Surrendered Maoists in Bastar 2

Amit Shah – Bastar

Amit Shah – During his visit to Bastar’s Jagdalpur city, Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed a group of surrendered Maoists, saying, “After surrendering, you must be feeling relieved, and your parents even happier. But honestly, I am the happiest today.”

Shah highlighted a significant achievement, noting that for the first time in four decades, the death toll from Maoist-related violence, including both civilians and security personnel, has dropped below 100. He credited this success to the tough policies implemented by the Modi government.

On his two-day visit to Chhattisgarh, Shah expressed satisfaction with the progress made this year in the battle against Maoism but stressed that violence should not be the solution. He reassured the surrendered Maoists that the government would do everything it could to help them rehabilitate and integrate into society. Shah also encouraged them to motivate other Maoists to surrender and join the peace process.

Earlier in Raipur, Shah awarded the prestigious ‘President’s Colour’ to the Chhattisgarh Police, with Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai by his side. Shah reaffirmed his commitment to eradicating Naxalism by March 2026, mentioning that security forces had neutralized 287 Maoists, arrested over 1,000, and helped 837 Maoists surrender in just one year.
